Tsavo East National Park and Taita Hills Salt Lick are two exceptional destinations that offer a diverse and unforgettable safari experience. Taita Hills Salt Lick, on the other hand, is a unique and intimate setting where guests can observe wildlife from the comfort of their rooms or the main lodge. The salt lick attracts a variety of animals, including elephants, buffaloes, and various antelope species, making it an ideal location for wildlife enthusiasts and photographers.
By combining these two destinations, travelers can experience the best of both worlds – the expansive wilderness of Tsavo East and the up-close encounters with wildlife at Taita Hills Salt Lick. This safari package is perfect for those seeking a short but impactful wildlife adventure in Kenya’s stunning landscapes.
Guests will be picked up by the driver very early in the morning ( 5 am) and have a two hour drive on the highway (Mombasa-Nairobi highway) before having a coffee break where the gate to Tsavo East is 6 KMS away. They'll enter through the Buchuma gate and right away start searching for animals. After the game drive there will be a lunch break and after another game drive until 4 pm where they'll exit Tsavo East Park by the Voi gate and head to Taita Hills conservancy where Salt Lick is situated. When they arrive (around 6 pm) they'll check in and have a relaxing evening watching animals at the waterhole.
Early coffee at the bar (coffee is served from 6 am) at 6.15 am they'll head out for a game drive until around 8 am where they'll have breakfast (buffet) after breakfast the journey going back to the hotel, first through the Maasai village and lunch break and then they'll be dropped at their hotel.
